Delivering an Expanded Warehouse and Office Facility for ALDI

Commissioned by ALDI, this development expanded an existing warehouse and office site of 1.68 hectares to provide additional chiller and freezer space, more office accommodation, a new two-storey car park, an extended goods-out apron, and a new truck office. The project enhanced operational efficiency while maintaining seamless integration with the existing facilities.

Craddys were appointed across all RIBA stages to provide both civil and structural engineering services. Our scope included design of the extensions, structural elements, car park, and site infrastructure, ensuring that all new works integrated effectively with the existing operations.

Key challenges included working within an operational site, managing phased construction to avoid disruption, and coordinating civil and structural works across multiple new and existing facilities. Craddys delivered innovative and practical engineering solutions, enabling the successful expansion of the site while maintaining full operational functionality throughout the project.
