Our City Community Cup

Over the weekend, Craddys were proud to play a part in the organisation, sponsorship and participation of the Bristol Refugee Festival Community Cup Football tournament.

Bristol Refugee Festival is an established charity organisation who run cultural and educational events, bringing together communities from across Bristol and beyond to connect, share and celebrate. Their aim is to celebrate the contribution that refugees and asylum seekers make to the city, create a better understanding of why people seek sanctuary, help overcome misconceptions and promote successful community cohesion.

The annual football tournament, which has been running since 2011, plays an important role in this and we were delighted to support the event by providing the winning trophies and team medals for both the male and female teams, and contributing towards the cost of first aid support for the day.

Our Craddys team played brilliantly but we were knocked-out in the quarter finals by a Aidbox A, a team made up of refugees. The tournament was eventually won by Unity A, a team with Kurdish origins.

A big thank you to our Christos Sibanda for all his efforts in sourcing the trophies and organising the Craddys team for the day.
