Senior Consultant Elected as a Fellow of the IStructE
Lawrence Smith shown on the right, one of Craddys senior consultants has been elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). The awarding of this Fellowship has been made in recognition of his excellence in structural engineering and his contribution to the engineering profession. The grade of Fellow is awarded to those IStructE members who have demonstrated significant individual responsibility, sustained achievement and professionalism during their career. Lawrence’s prestigious accomplishment illustrates the exceptional calibre of staff which Craddys employ, and demonstrates the company’s commitment to developing employee’s skills and achievements.
Lawrence has over 40 years experience within the industry, ranging from repairs on housing blocks in Hong Kong, to façade retention at Bristol Crown Court. His particular forte is his acknowledged expertise in technical matters, this is highlighted by his lead role in the technical aspects of increasingly challenging projects, including the repair and refurbishment of historical buildings such as the Clifton Cathedral and Prince Street 19th century listed bridge. Furthermore, Lawrence has a wide range of knowledge on leading small specialist teams on complex building type projects, as well as being the technical point of call for the whole company.
