⚠️ Independent Inspections and Safety-Critical Elements 🏗️

In the wake of recent building failures, the construction industry is under increasing pressure to ensure the safety and compliance of buildings. Two key concepts have emerged as critical to this effort: Independent Inspections and Safety-Critical Elements (SCEs).

Independent Inspections involve rigorous scrutiny by a party not directly involved in the construction process, ensuring that SCEs—those elements whose failure could result in serious injury or fatality—are correctly installed and compliant with design and regulations.

While these practices are becoming mandatory for Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), the same level of scrutiny is not yet required for Non-HRBs. However, the industry must start adopting these practices across all projects to ensure the safety of all building users.
