It was great to tune in last week to the IStructE, Western Counties Regional Group “Masterclass in Presenting” lecture, presented by our very own Simon Pitchers. The lecture, titled ‘Check Your Design Is Being Built Correctly – and Get Paid for Doing It,’ enthusiastically emphasised how the Building Safety Act will usher in a generational shift in the way construction projects are managed, inspected, and evaluated. It highlighted the importance for designers to be deeply involved in the scrutiny of what is being built.
