Craddys have provided the structural engineering consultancy services for a number of stores as part of the launch of beauty brand Sephora’s expansion into the UK market. To date, Craddys have been involved with 10 stores, but this number will increase as the firm increases its market presence across the UK.

Each scheme requires a bespoke solution, oftentimes working with limited existing information and to a tight deadline. Due to the exclusive nature of the clients branding, the units were designed to a high standard requiring Craddys to rise to the challenge of providing efficient structural design which also worked within the architects and client’s expectations. Typical scope of works for any given store included bespoke steelwork support for shop front installation (including support of feature glazing panels), load capacity checks for hanging decorative bulkheads / mezzanine levels and the justification of the structure to achieve landlord consent.
