The design of this outdoor leisure development at Larkstone Cove, Ilfracombe evolved over a number of years. Craddys were initially appointed to produce a condition survey of the existing heritage sea wall in 2012.
This appointment then expanded to include an engineering feasibility study for the proposed watersports centre, followed by detailed design of the new build centre up to tender stage. Craddys carried out a detailed cut and fill assessment for the steep sloping site in an effort to achieve economy of earthworks operations on behalf of the contractor.
The watersports centre will provide accommodation for a variety of watersports groups currently operating from a range of different facilities around the harbour. All of these stakeholders were consulted as the design developed to ensure that the finished facility meets their expectations.
